About Us

Tiny Tools for Big Feelings provides early, practical support for children and families experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm and challenges with emotional regulation.

We work with children, parents, schools and community organisations to deliver structured, trauma-informed programmes that focus on building real-life coping skills not just talking about emotions, but helping children understand and manage them in a way that feels safe and achievable.

Our approach is grounded in evidence-informed practice and shaped by both professional experience and lived understanding.

We recognise that many children are struggling quietly, often appearing to cope in structured environments like school, while experiencing high levels of internal stress and overwhelm.

Through small group programmes, 1:1 coaching and community-based support, we provide early intervention that helps prevent escalation to crisis point. Our work focuses on emotional regulation, anxiety management, confidence building and supporting children to better understand what is happening in their bodies and minds.

We also work closely with parents and caregivers, offering guidance and support so that change can be sustained beyond sessions and embedded into everyday life.
Tiny Tools for Big Feelings is committed to making support accessible, relatable and effective particularly for families who may be waiting for, or unable to access, more specialist services.

By bridging the gap between home, school and services, we aim to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time, creating meaningful and lasting impact within the community.

The Beginning

Tiny Tools for Big Feelings was created from both lived experience and years of professional work with children and families.

Before founding Tiny Tools, I worked closely within children’s residential services and supported young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Alongside this, my own experiences as a parent including navigating anxiety, pressure and emotional challenges within the home gave me a deeper understanding of what families are facing day to day.

What became clear, both professionally and personally, was that many children were reaching crisis point before receiving support. Families were often left waiting for specialist services, trying to manage overwhelming emotions without the tools or guidance they needed. Tiny Tools for Big Feelings was created to bridge that gap.

The focus has always been early, practical support helping children and families understand emotions, reduce anxiety and build simple, effective strategies that can be used in real life, not just in clinical settings.

Since launching, Tiny Tools has worked with children, parents, schools and community organisations across the Wirral, delivering structured, trauma-informed programmes designed to support emotional regulation and wellbeing in a way that feels accessible, safe and achievable.

The aim is simple:
to ensure children and families receive the right support earlier before challenges escalate and to provide tools that create lasting change

Early Intervention That Prevents Crisis

We work with children and families before issues escalate, providing practical support while they are still waiting for, or unable to access, specialist services.

Practical, Tool-Based Support (Not Just Talking)

Our sessions focus on real-life strategies children can actually use when emotions are high — helping them understand and manage anxiety and overwhelm in the moment.

Whole-Family Approach for Lasting Change

We don’t just support the child — we work with parents and caregivers too, ensuring tools are reinforced at home, creating more consistent and sustainable outcomes.
