Dough & Doppio is an independent Italian style street-food bakery bringing a taste of Italy to the Wirral.
Our speciality is our slow-fermented, handmade focaccia — baked fresh and generously filled to order with carefully selected Italian ingredients, from Mortadella and Prosciutto to Bresaola, Burrata, Stracciatella, Pecorino and more.
Everything starts with the dough. We believe great focaccia takes time, which is why we focus on long fermentation, traditional techniques and an artisan approach rather than shortcuts.
Alongside our signature focaccia sandwiches, you’ll find Italian coffee, freshly baked treats, cannoli, tiramisù and a selection of Italian favourites.
We’re passionate about creating food that is simple, authentic and full of flavour — the kind of food that transports you to Italy from the very first bite.
The Beginning
Dough & Doppio started from a simple passion for authentic Italian food, great coffee and, most importantly, properly made dough.
We began as a small independent business in Bromborough, Wirral, with the idea of bringing something a little different to the area — Italian-style focaccia sandwiches made with slow-fermented dough, quality Italian ingredients and traditional methods.
What started small quickly grew through word of mouth and the support of our local community. Over time, we’ve continued to develop our dough, recipes and processes, always focusing on quality rather than shortcuts.
Today, Dough & Doppio is growing, but we want to keep the same artisan approach that got us here in the first place: great dough, carefully selected ingredients and Italian food made with passion.
Slow-Fermented, Artisan Focaccia – Our focaccia is handmade using a long fermentation process, creating the light, airy texture and flavour that sits at the heart of everything we do.
Premium Italian Ingredients, Generously Filled – From Mortadella and Prosciutto to Bresaola, Burrata, Stracciatella and aged Italian cheeses, we use carefully selected ingredients and don’t hold back on the fillings.
Authentic Italian Street Food, Made Fresh – We combine traditional Italian methods with a modern grab-and-go experience, preparing our focaccia sandwiches fresh to order rather than offering mass-produced, pre-packed food.
